For Cedar Key growers
Five farms,
this season.
Tidalyst is what Ian Stone runs Big Moon Sea Farm on — what got planted, where it sits, what came out of it. We're looking for five more farms to be early on it, at half price for the first year.
What it does
- Record a planting on your phone, on the boat — signal or not. Field, colour, how many bags. About fifteen seconds, and the boat is still moving. With no bars it holds what you entered and sends it when the phone finds a signal again.
- Never add up what's in the water again. It counts every bag in and every bag out, so standing inventory is a number you read rather than a day you spend.
- Find out which hatchery's seed actually became bags. Not a feeling about it, and not a sample — the whole crop, from what you already recorded. Same for bushels per bag.
What it costs
The first five farms to set a day for Ian to come out get the first-year rate. After that, the list is the next thing and we work down it in order. Unlimited people on your farm, and we don't charge per crew member, because the whole thing only works if everybody records what they did. Monthly, cancel whenever. Your numbers are yours: no other farm can see them, and that is built into the database rather than promised.
Where it actually stands
One farm runs on this every day, and it is Ian's. It is real, and it is young — if you come on now you will hit rough edges he hasn't. That is most of the point of asking you.
So you know before you call, today it does not:
- Do crew task lists or scheduling.
It does draft your USDA paperwork from the same records: the FSA-578 acreage report, the monthly NAP inventory, and an ELAP loss packet after a storm. Each one is a draft — you read it, correct anything it got wrong, and sign it yourself.
If you already keep a spreadsheet, it will read it — you start looking at your own history rather than at a blank page.
Talk to Ian
He is a clam farmer in Cedar Key, not a salesman, and he would rather walk you through what your farm does today than talk about software. An hour of that is genuinely all he is asking for first.
Ian's number is on the card he handed out — or send a note here and he will call you back. You can also ask for a farm online, and one of us gets back to you within two business days.
